Formed in 1978, as the Sacriston Colliery Band, the band moved to Craghead in 2004.
2024 was a very successful year for the band when it became the Northern Area section 4 Champions. The band went on to represent the Northern Area at the Cheltenham Finals of The National Brass Band Championships (section 4).
A happy lot the band continues to provide and outlet for people of all ages and ability to make music. The band has a full diary of engagements for 2025 and continues to provide much appreciated entertainment for all.
Craghead Colliery Band will be performing as part of the Sound of Sunday care home programme.
