Barnard Castle Band has been around for at least 150 years with a short gap in the 1960/70 era. We are no longer a contesting band, but we do engagements throughout the year for various fetes, carnivals and charity concerts along with the usual paid concerts. As the photo shows we are a thriving band with regular practices brining in 28 to 35 players. There is a published history of the band which goes into great detail and is very interesting. We are also still heavily involved with Brass in Concert every November.
